Optometry is more than a profession for Dr. Bolenbaker; it is a lifelong pursuit fueled by an analytical mind. His path began during his junior year at Washington State University when aptitude testing identified optometry as his perfect match. What started as a 30-hour observation requirement turned into a 100-hour deep dive, confirming his passion for the field.
After graduating from Pacific University’s College of Optometry in 2003 with honors from the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, Dr. Bolenbaker initially managed a commercial practice. However, he quickly realized that corporate environments limited the level of care he could provide. In 2007, he opened his own independent location in Reno to ensure the focus remained strictly on what is best for the patient, free from outside influence.
